Our customer has a long history that spans several decades and a solid presence in the textile sector.

 

Looking for a Mechanical biased Project Engineer to join this dynamic Lancaster-based company

Requirements

- Ensure steam is supplied to the production units uninterrupted and to the quality required

- Fully conversant and trained in all the requirements for raising steam, including technical data collection and interpretation

- Repair machinery in a safe manner to allow trouble-free operation with no ineffective repairs or repeat jobs

- Report any fault that cannot be rectified to the Departmental Supervisor

- Carry out welding repairs which are suitable & fit for purpose

- Responsible for the operation of air, water & effluent services throughout the site

- Ensure the caustic dilution system is switched off at the end of the last shift & turned on again and set in sequence at the beginning of the first weekly shift as well as ensuring all services i.e., lights, pumps etc. are switched off at the end of the last shift

- Ensure the fabric of the building is fit for purpose

- Adhere to all health and safety regulations from equipment and machinery to risks and hazards

- Fully conversant with the Health & Safety requirements of the machine and operation in question

- Attend all relevant training courses to enable the Engineering Services to be kept abreast of changes in technology and to carry out effective repairs on plant and equipment

- Adhere to all housekeeping duties to ensure a clean and safe working environment

- Continually look for ways to do the job better, faster and cheaper without compromising health & safety

- Report any problems and recommend solutions

Skills & Knowledge

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment

- Experience working with textile printing equipment

- Welding

Fully conversant and trained in all the requirements for raising steam, including technical data collection & interpretation

Technician must hold a relevant qualification suitable for the position, i.e. City & Guilds, NVQ, in an Mechanical engineering discipline and/or equivalent
