My client are an industry leader in detection technology, providing cargo and vehicle inspection systems and services for ports, borders, military, high-threat facilities, and checkpoints to help customers combat terrorism, drug smuggling, illegal immigration, and trade fraud.

This is a temporary role which contributes to the production of all Cargo security systems and support the build of various mechanical, pneumatic sub-systems and component sub-assemblies.

Responsibilities
- Must be able to interpret mechanical drawings.
- Follow the instructions of the team leader both verbally and written.
- Apply relevant mechanical skills and experience to carry out tasks as required.
Ability to develop, understand and follow lift plans.

Use of hand tools, including grinders, drills, saws etc.
Skills & Knowledge
- A team player working with other disciplines to progress the job.
- Flexible approach.
- Willing to work overtime where necessary.
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
- Ideally time served apprentice in mechanical or similar discipline but not essential.
- Forklift licence.
- Overhead crane operator and slinging qualifications.
